“If Capital City Community Centers were to close it would be a disaster for a lot of families.  I know some of the clients and many of them really need our help.  I tell them to come here for help when they need it.” – Carmen Maldonado, volunteer

Our Case Management Department is the hub for providing assistance to individuals in the Providence area.  Federal, state, local and private funding enables our team to provide support and information to thousands of working poor individuals or the chronically unemployed each year.  Our goal is to support individuals and families in time of crisis and empower them to work toward self-sufficiency.  Capital City Community Centers’ bilingual staff supplies emergency food, clothing, heat and rental subsidies to over 300 individuals each month struggling to meet their basic needs.  Under a Victims of Crimes Assistance grant, Capital City Community Centers provides referrals and assistance to victims of domestic violence and other crimes.  Our team also provides employment assistance and translation services, and helps organize family literacy and ESL classes.

Our Case Management Department is open year-round from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday to provide assessment, access and referral to community members via scheduled appointments or walk-in crisis situations.  In 2006, we recorded over a thousand instances where low-income and working poor families received the individualized assistance they needed to respond to crisis, meet their basic needs, keep their homes and stabilize their lives.

If you or someone you know needs help with meeting their basic needs for food, clothing or utilities, or has been the victim of a crime, call Christina Kettell at 455-3880.
