Susan E. Stevenson, M.Ed., Chief Operating Officer
Susan E. Stevenson, M.Ed., Chief Operating Officer of Capital City Community Centers is also a Director at our affiliate, Gateway Healthcare where she is responsible for developing and managing an array of program for children, youth, and adults with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities.Ms. Stevenson received her bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from the University of Iowa (1974) and her master's degree in behavior and learning disorders from KentStateUniversity (1979).Her post graduate work has been in policy leadership roles.
Ms. Stevenson serves on numerous boards of community organizations and is active on state committees for policies affecting children’s issues, and systems of care.She has taught courses and conducted workshops and inservices on early childhood, special needs populations, behavior analysis, and positive behavior supports, and specialized treatment strategies.Ms. Stevenson has presented widely, directed numerous grants, and has publications in the areas of early childhood, behavior analysis, human rights, staff training, program design, systems of care, and management systems.
Shelli Boeniger, School Age Program Director
As the Director of Capital City Community Centers’ School Age Program, Shelli manages all aspects of our program, recreation, meals and education. She has previous experience in adult day care, administration and nonprofit fundraising. Shelli is a graduate of Johnson State College in Vermont.
Deborah Durant, Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center Director
Since 2003, Debbie has provided early childhood care for Capital City Community Centers’ two early learning centers. For three years she served as the Head Teacher/Preschool Teacher for the Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center. In 2009, Debbie assumed position of Director of Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center. She is a Rhode Island College graduate in Early Childhood Education.
