Goal Win Roar Riders Association Hosts Annual Family Fun Day
Capital City Community Centers is fortunate to benefit from the engagement of dedicated volunteers who lend their support to numerous activities throughout the year. They include both individual volunteers and those who join with others from their groups, organizations and businesses, and do so much to contribute to the fulfillment of our mission.
One such group is the Goal Win Roar Riders Association. Our own Ramon Peralta, Capital City’s Properties Manager and a motorcycle enthusiast, has been an Association member for years and has actively pursued the involvement of the group. The Association’s members regularly volunteer at Cap City’s Food Pantry, have helped with the Thanksgiving food distribution and Holiday Adopt-a-Family Drive and annually host the end of season Family Fun Day for the children of Capital City’s Summer Enrichment Program and their families. This annual celebration, which takes places at Camp Meehan, Capital City’s facility on the shores of Notte Pond in North Providence, offers the perfect ending to the summer. Here the kids and their family members enjoy entertainment, participate in group games and chow down on a great barbeque of hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans and homemade desserts prepared by group members. The Association also distributed back-packs filled with school supplies to every child that attended the event.
“What could possibly be better than this,” said Anne Gulliani, a long time chapter member as she tended to hamburgers simmering on the grill. “We are so pleased to be able to provide this time for the kids.”
We could never express the magnitude of our gratitude to the cyclists and to all of the talented volunteers who give so generously of their time and talents to make life a little better for those in need.
